“ Dialogues ”
In her new unity of works, entitled " Dialogues ", Elena Papadimitriou is in the tracking of a new renegotiating of representative power in painting. Through her personal stylistic codes, but also through the dialogue of her works’ 'aura', with ideas and thoughts that these may create to intellectual and artistic minds, the artist gives us the hint towards a new magic realism.
Through the artist’s personal stylistic character, which stands out by an emphatic insistence on delivering a thousand details in each of the patterns and motives and by using different materials and textures, the artist reveals and brings to life forms and figures that escape the fleeting glance. Her painted or painted decoupated female figures that the artist places on several different intaglios - like mirror, wood or canvas - , give the viewer a romantic surrealistic ambience that leads us to other worlds of fantacy or dreams. Most of her figures look somewhere towards infinity, none of them doesn’ t look the audience straight in the eye. They seem to gaze dreamily at another universe and emerge sometimes on the transparent, shiny texture of a mirror, sometimes on the warm, dark texture of wood, or between the artist’s painted canvas which resembles a mosaic with its thousand small spurts of color. Illusionistic games create the illusion of a three-dimensional painting universe, which invites the viewer to enter into its magical dimension.
In the vice-versa way of how illustration works, the artist has decided to ask some people to see her works and write a text, each one of them for one of her works, hunting for what the painting might bring out of us.
Vassilis Katsikonouris, theatrical writer, Zaira Nikolakopoulou, pupil of the E’ grade, Magdalini Touliatou, phd professor of Semeiotics, Iris Kritikou, art-historian, Iris Hatziantoniou, actress, Froso Lytra, director and actress, Paraskevas Karasoulos, lyrics writer – poet, Mairy Adamopoulou, art-critic journalist, Dimitris Vanellis, writer, Kiki Dimoula, poet , have accepted the challenge for an interlock with each one of the artist ’s painting works and have given their own point of view, their images, tales, poems on the works.

“ Ran – Chaos ”
Artemis Katsampani 's painting exhibition, entitled: ' Ran - Chaos', exhibits a number of paintings and constructions, which belong to the broader movement of Abstract Expressionism. Emphasizing on forms and geometry, in creation of form or to its abolition, the artist is primarily relying to the senses, through blurred color pictures that refer to clouds, to the water’s movement or simply to colorful compositions on the artist’s palette and mind.
'Ran', in Japanese, means chaos. The origin of the artist, which is half-Greek and half-Japanese, translates into the semantics of her work, meaning the marriage of Eastern and Western worlds and mentality. The marriage of the western force and speed, with the serene eastern patience and calmness. For the artist, everything in life is moving! Life itself is an endless journey. What she aims at with her work, is to capture these expressions in an atmospheric dance of colors, compositions and qualities/textures. Through “sumie” inks, glues, the textures’ terrain seems ready to explode in a chaos of its own, in a world of its own, far beyond the actual contours of her works.
