and the painting exhibition by Giorgos Prassa entitled " Drawing the landscape " .

For Ellie, facebook is not impersonal.
There, converge our energies in search of 11. /.

11. / is a path from the 1 of loneliness, through the 2 of love, to the 11 of our entire being. It is a love story in the intermediate time, covering what we do to fill our vacuum, until our encounter with the Other.

11. / is not an idea, but a condition dictated by the Other - a presence from the future. It concerns an approach to love, encounter, connection, the vacuum, and our holes. It is a symbol of self-knowledge, an approach of the self as shaped by our contact with the Other.

11. / concerns our extraterrestrial side that is not foreign, but dark. It deals with our transposition from the here to there. Although roles hardly have relevance, there is a single woman (Dali) and a fragmented man (Gala). Our two parts collide to an absolute synchronicity, not in real space and time, but in terms of our soul.

11. / happens within a spaceship, where time does not exist and space is stellar. The spaceship is suspended beyond the world, independently of it. Our hands determine its movement. There, environmental indicators (of humidity & temperature) are appropriate in order for the Other to flourish. Thus we desire and are able to become the Other.

11. / has a dimension of its own. The 'skin' is not a limit, but a space. There is no 'time', but only the cosmic fluid. Ellie found the word "Remembering" online. 'Remembering' means love, as 'memory' means death. Then, remembering is a deep inner knowledge, as intuition, like getting to know the genetic material of the Other. As such, remembering is but a flashing light.

11. / arrives at togetherness and wholeness. When 'you' means 'I' then the boundaries between life and death are shuttered. Then, we are 11 - a new being, ourselves united and simultaneous.

Megakles Rogakos for Ellie Griva

During the same period, the gallery also features works by George Prassas, in an exhibition entitled "Drawing the landscape". In this new solo exhibition, the artist captures landscapes and interiors in a minimalist style and geometrical forms that characterise his work's composition. This is a collection of images with simple motifs, transmitted by bold spot colors. These graphic works, marked by the elementary picture ingredients, strike a balance between abstraction and representation.

Through observations and the simple recording of everyday life, a table, a chair, a still life, a  room interior or a summer landscape are being artistically "reinvented" with a poetic mood, while maintaining a sense of moderation and restraint, direct artistic influences of the minimalism, child art and film-arty frames. By means of a contemporary attitude, characterised by holding on to the elementary, the artist's vision runs through and mobilises our imagination, complementing the images with senses.

The artist's design equipment is simple. Working with primary colors, he leaves blank a large space of the canvas or paper. He clearly prefers drawing watercolours, in which he interferes with both water soluble and with acrylic colours. As a result, delicate colour slides are brought together with stronger tints and shades. Interior and exterior spaces, objects or forms, are just the pretext that allows him to use the language of  painting and to turn the colour, the design, the form and the composition into de facto protagonists of his works, in a novel way bearing his own unique signature.

Duration of exhibitions: until Saturday April 2nd 2011.
