On Thuersday, March 10th takes place the vernissage of the exhibition of paintings and constructions by Eleftheria Yalati entitled: "Once, in the woods" at the Art Gallery "Astrolavos artlife" (Irodotou 11, Kolonaki, tel: 210 7221200, 4, fax: 210 7221304, opening hours: Wed-Sat. 10.00-15.00, Tues-Thurs-Fri. 10.00-15.00&17.30-20.30, closed on Monday, www.astrolavos.gr, email: gallery@astrolavos.gr ).

This exhibition features most notably painting/sculpture-like constructions made of various recyclable materials (paper, wood, plastic, fabric), which the artist transforms in visual compositions that transmit a special sensitivity, reflected in forms and colours. Formatted cars and bicycles, trees clinging onto coloured balls, smalls chairs and tables, chess boards with pawns ready to attack. a world of game transformed into art exudes a peculiar sense of humor.
Bright coloured pieces of paper stuck to one another, covering the papier-mache sculptural forms, are the raw material of the colourful palette of the artist, who brings her two -or three- dimensional constructions into life, redefining forms and materials in ever changing sizes, creating individual works or sets of visual modules. Eleftheria Yalati's work stands out thanks to its unique artistic style and a playful tone that arises from the strange formations of each individual form and the intense colour patterns.
