On Thursday 28th of May 2009 in the art-shop of ''Astrolavos artlife'' (Irodotou 11, Kolonaki, tel: 210 7221200, 4, fax: 210 7221304, opening hours: Mon.Wed. Sat. 11.00 -15.00, Tu.Th.Fr. 11.00-20.30, www.astrolavos.gr) opens the drawings and sculptures exhibition by Henk Van Boekel (1925 - 2005) on the occasion of the publication of his book ''Drawings 1942-2005'', by Oistros publishing house and the individual painting exhibition of Kalli Kastori.

A series of expressionistic designs of large human figures, round, full, lively and passionate, with enlarged soulful arms and legs, made even more expressive by the dynamic attribution of the toes, signaling the artists work. Sculptural drawings, simple, in vivid three-dimensions bringing out the joy of life, love but also an exuberant humor.
During the drawings exhibition will also be presented a series of famous sculptures of Boekel, representing human figures entwined, embraced, kissing; voluptuous women lying down or sited with their laid back men sleeping or posing in a leisurely fashion.

Kalli Kastori in this unit of works presents depictions of swimmers by the beach, in usual poses, which under the dazzling sun-light are attributed dynamically with movement and life.
With simplicity the synthesis is centered through the supreme power of light, depicting human forms, the artist manages to harmonically encapsulate artistic values and accomplish an expressive wholeness. In a soft range of colors manages to project with directness and lyricism the poetic images.
