On Thursday 11 th of October 2007 , in the art space of " Astrolavos - artlife " (Irodotou 11, Kolonaki, tel: 210 7221200,4, fax: 210 7221304, www.astrolavos.gr , opening hours: Mon.Wed.Sat. 11.00-15.00, Tue.Th.Fr. 11.00-20.30) opens an exhibition of small sculptures, drawings and two busts of Maria Kallas by the artist Aspasia Papadoperaki .

It is known that Papadoperakis' work is transpired by authentic Greek spirit and is characterized by order and meter; two basic elements of archaic sculpture. The cubist abstraction that the artist adopts in her work seems to be creating a proportion theory, which in the specific case of the two representations (head and natural size-full body) of Maria Kallas, manages to combine and accurately attribute the dynamic character, volcanic temperament and talent of the renowned artist. Kallas emerges as a contemporary austere figure with realistic characteristics; classic and recognizable.

Aspasia Papadoperaki says about this work:

".with the sculpture of the busts, for the shaping of Maria Kallas, I tried to create a dialogue between the sculpture technique and its presence to our every day life so as to transfer into today, symbolically, but also as sense this unique personality to my best. My effort has been to convey with modesty, symbols and feeling the character and offer of Maria Kallas to the opera theatre into our aesthetic environment, thus creating memory on her undisputable passage from art."
