After the installation of the monumental sculpture of
"Apollo's Mirror" at the European Cultural Center
of Delphi, Masaaki Noda presents micro sculptures, collages
and handmade engravings at the exhibition that opens on
Tuesday the 1st of March at the Art Gallery "ASTROLAVOS
artife" .
His inspiration and usual issues come from the History of
many centuries of different civilizations, from the ancient
meditation and philosophy and are carried out through curvilinear
forms in painting as much as in sculpture. Hyberbola and
parabola that whether are compacted or are ejected throughout,
are creating circular movements abolishing the static from
the shapes and giving at the same time a sense of airy motion.
Abstractive works that transform metaphorically in artistic
level the different intellectual senses that the artist
is dealing with are influenced by Futurism and Constructivism.
His sculptures are a combination of the power of the form
and their material that has sharp tiny endings that gives
them a light character and is reminding of the bird flight.
The artist attends to break the stringency of the geometrical
shapes using ethereal colors, colors of the iris with thin
tonic shading. The lyric and dynamic element takes turns
in a wisely studied rhythm in his other engravings with
the earthen colors and the white background and in his black
and white series. Flying, undulation or simple no representative
fantasies of the artist, Noda's works, are creating an illusive
space that attracts the eye of the spectator leading him
in atmospheric artistic journey's. The exhibition of micro
sculptures from stainless steel includes works from the
"Perpetual light" series, in which belongs the
monumental sculpture "Apollo's Mirror" in Delphi.
Duration of exhibition: until 26 of March.
