Air of renewal in the established exhibition of Kites, that takes place for the 7th year at the Art Gallery "ASTROLAVOS dexameni" (Xanthipou11, Kolonaki, tel: 210 7294342-3, fax: 2107293317, www.astrolavos.gr) and it opens on Thursday the 3rd of March.

Old and new collaborators of the Gallery are called to give joy and a note of optimistic view at this theme through a plastic art game that keeps tradition and signals the arrival of spring.
"Art brings out tradition", is this year the message of the group exhibition of Astrolavos that promises to join the traditional flight of the Kite with Art, for all the art-lovers who will stay in Athens and would love to celebrate in a different way this custom during the day of "Clean Monday". Original ideas and fantasy, that will leave no one untouched, are combined with paintings, constructions and photographs.

This specific exhibition of Astrolavos comes every year as an answer to the question: Who concerns modern art? The works of Katerina Vavlitou, Katia Varvaki, Melita Vernardaki, Eleftheria Galati, Morfi gkika, Vaggelis Gkiokas, Giorgos Golfinos, Elli Gravalou, Lazaros Zikos, Polis Kanistra, Marios Kamhis, Athina Kourbouzou, Kostas Lampropoulos, Giannis Lasithiotakis, Magda Leventakou, Spuros Lytras, Marina Maravelaki, Maria Maroudi, MM Team, Katerina Mourati, Kostas Bobos, Dimitris Mytaras, Alexandra Nasioula, Giorgos Papageorgiou, Dimitra Papadimitropoulou, Eleni Paulopoulou, Efi Paroutsa, Lakis Patraskidis, Faidonas Patrikalakis, Amalia Petsali, Fotis Pexlibanidis, Rania Pagkou, Konstantina Skapetoulia, Anna Skarlatou, Stathis, Kassianis Tsakiridi, Kostas Tsoklis, Alekos Fasianos and Manolis Haros, gives the answer: "Everybody, youngsters and orders, art lovers or not, if art is going towards them, through customs and tradition, through joy and participation in games and competition.
The different stylistic and technotropical idioms of the works of the exhibition, the different techniques that appear in them and the different ways and material every artist uses, is sure that will satisfy even the most demanding visitors.

The night of the inauguration and the day of "Clean Monday", the atmosphere in the exhibition will be more festive with music from D.J., while visitors will be able to take Kites, that every year Astrolavos offers to them. This year the kites are made by Kostas Tsoklis. Who ever wishes can have a Kite signed from the artists that participate in the exhibition.

The competition of "flying the Kite" will take place on "Clean Monday" at 14.00 in Lykabettus hill and the three Kites that will fly higher than the others will be rewarded with art works made by Alekos Fasianos, Kostas Bobos and Elli Gravalou.
