On Tuesday the 1st of March at the art shop of the Art
Gallery "ASTROLAVOS artlife" the opening of an
exhibition of artistic papier-mache constructions by Yota
Kalavritinou will take place.
The artist tells about her work: "Since 2000 I'm experimenting
in papier mache technique. The idea of recycling and the
use of materials that are friendly to human and to environment,
my care for animals and their continuous watching after
my three old daughters admonition, turned me to the construction
of small animals about the size of a real cat.
Loving and expressive shapes with a look that watches everything
are materialized from newspaper, cardboards even wire. They
are painted with acrylics or tempera and varnish. I realized
the procedure of their construction as a charming creations
game, where the wastepaper takes the form of an animal-sculpture
with personality"
Duration of exhibition: until 26th of March.
