On Friday the 28 of January opens at the Art Gallery "ASTROLAVOS dexameni" an exhibition of artistic constructions by Vangelis Giokas entitled: "Family Mythology".
The artist says about his work: "In this unit "myth" constitutes a main core and all the works turn around him.
a. In the beginning the works have borrowed their subjects from Aisopos myths or from other known fairy tales (the fox and the grapes), (the fox and the crow), (the crop tailed fox).

b. Continuity appears in myth a catalyst that creates an unexpected development (Che pastes the foxes tail), (Marx gives grapes to the fox), (Lenin shares the cheese to fox and crow), (Hare and turtle are playing in the monument of Tatlins C’ International).
c. He turns out in the creation of a "family mythology" where the members of this family are creating their own myth or they become leaders in famous myths (Sundays excursion), (festive meal), (the red cap), (superman), (the goats charmer)".
The works have been constructed from aluminum, iron, wood, bronze, lead, e.t.c.
The images have been elaborated in a computer and after they were printed in aluminum, where they were deeply oxidized and inked.

The works of bronze are cast and some others were made from cast lead.
Giokas "Family Mythology" is given through a poetic hand and a critical spirit that manages in a successful composition of material and certain elaborations to give strong works.
