On Wednesday the 20th of October at 19.30 starts at the offices of the Greek Company of Management of Firms ( Avenue Ionias 200 & Iakovaton 60, Patisia, tel.210-2112000) an exhibition of painting of NIKOLETTA ANTONOPOULOU with the title:"In the overtone of the Olympic Games".

This exhibition is a beginning of a series of artistic demonstrations of EEDE at its offices that will be organized by the Art Galleries "ASTROLAVOS" as part of their program "Art in working places".
Antonopoulou has been working through the last few years on athletic subjects ("Horse races", "Races with motorcycles", "Sailing"e.t.c.) and other athletes in full action. With her quick and dynamic hand with an intense expressionistic abstractive glance she manages to give in a unique way the movement, the tension, the reaching of a peak, the finishing, the greatness of the fair competition.

In this exhibition almost 60 paintings made of oil, temper, water-colours that show Olympic sports will make the visitor feel once more the magic spirit and the excitement of the games and to sense the power of her artistic hand. The variety of her colours is rich and full of light (as such a theme requires), the way she uses her paint-brush is quick and extensive almost reaching the borders of expressive writing is showing the ability of the painter to create works with the tension and the vivality of the scenes and the moments that she pictures.

A small group of paintings which was recently made and accompanies the exhibition , shows swarms of birds when flying ( emigrating birds leaving for foreign destinations) is included in order to express the sense of departure and missing of all these people(athletes and spectators)that had been in Athens for the Olympic Games. That way she shows in a metaphorical artistic way "the overtone of the Olympic Games"

The exhibition lasts until the 30th of November.
