On Tuesday, November 9th at the Art Gallery «Astrolavos artlife» (Irodotou 11, Kolonaki, tel: 210 7221200, 4, fax: 210 7221304, opening hours: Wed-Sat. 10.00-15.00, Tues-Thurs-Fri. 10.00-15.00 & 17.30-20.30, closed on Monday, www.astrolavos.gr, email: gallery@astrolavos.gr) took place the vernissage of a painting exhibition by Katerina Vavlitou entitled "Tracking the soul"

The artist, who has been exploring the human figure for several years, has created, for this exhibition, a series of anthropocentric works. The free, abstract writing of these meritorious portraits succeeds in capturing the psyche and the emotional world of its forms. The artist records, with nerve, the movement and their expression, incorporating and integrating them almost to their surrounding space. The surrounding area becomes familiar and particularly atmospheric. Sometimes in a cold and sometimes in a warm background colour range, the artist creates successive portraits with slight variations, while emphasising on the motion and the study of the body's form. The succession of close-ups, the experimental writing and posture result in creating a cinematic movement in the figures' creation and in granting a more lively substance to the project.
Tightly structured compositions with sensitive forms and with a strong color modeling reveal the strength and the skills of Katerina Vavlitou when it comes to painting creation.
