Nanos Valaoritis new works and colorful drawings of china ink and color pens on aquarelle paper, faithful to the artist's already established surrealistic style, strongly reference to primitive and naive art. Figures emerge and submerge on paper, as ideas storm the brain. The hand is directly driven by the brain, automatic, without structured theme yet the meaning spreads as the intention fades and the unexpected appears.
One can see a woman, a mythical scene, a dark episode, a secret relationship between strangers; advertisements and names creating images. Shrinking symbols in chromatic, morfic bodies instigated to the reproduction of pleasure by a rainbow of colors and polarized light. Grey, blue, reds and greens constitute a visual poem releasing pleasant feelings maybe an alternative alibi to our indigent reality. This way the world becomes different for upon them one projects the alternate state of things.
The story-telling continues with parading aliens and well-known personalities like Joyce or Marlon Brando, archetypal queens and goddesses, Venus, Hope, Artemis, Paris; also, monsters from the depths of the earth, heavenly creatures, heroes and heroines of mythology.
The whole of history, lying within us, vaguely opens a door as to see where we stand on the 21st century. What do we remember and what we forget?

During the same time in the art and design shop of the gallery is presented the exhibition of manufactures by paper by Artemis Makridou, entitled: '' Apple. to me''.
