On Thursday the 28th of January, opens at ASTROLAVOS- dexameni an exhibition of the new work by the artist Maria Maroudi entitled: 'Shortly before, shortly after'.

With this work Maroudi makes a turn towards the use of canvas, after a long and successful period of occupation with artistic constructions. In this new work the artist uses mixed techniques, continuing in that way her quest through the game with materials and contradictions. With less introversion, personal codes and existential references, the artist refers to current issues though the use of black and white pictures (in order to support a documentary nature) which are processed, printed or used in a collage in such a way as to express her speculation towards the social and political issues that preoccupy people before and after the 11th of September.

Those compositions that are frequently interrupted by the use of red color, which sometimes signifies violence, others escape and others passion, succeed in portraying through a personal writing all the sensitivity and power of Maroudi's work.
